"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."- Romans 8: 3-4

EXPLORATION

There are three Spiritual Laws: The Law Of Sin, The Law Of Death and The Law Of Life.

The Law of Sin, is such that takes the mind of a person captive in the sense that, though he loves to do good or the right thing out of a good conscience, he finds a compelling force within him causing him to commit a sin or do something that is not right. This is how the law of sin works. (Read Romans. 7:22-24)

The Law of Death.  This can be better understood by the scripture that says: "...when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death ... For the wages of sin is death ..." James 1:15, Romans 6:23. It is clear from the scriptures that those who are ruled by the law of sin will surely die (spiritually).

The Law of Life. The Bible says, "... the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 6:23 (John 10:10, 1 John 5:11-12.) This is the power that enables a person to live the quality of life that God has designed for man by which he will enjoy God's blessings here on earth and later be translated to eternal bliss in paradise.

INSPIRATION

Apostle Paul in his epistles takes time to describe the result of living under the law of sin, that such person will be mindful of only the things of the flesh and seek how to satisfy its unholy desires (Romans 8:5.) Not subject to the law of God neither indeed can be. And the book of James sees, such as been in enmity with God and the wrath of God is always over such person. (James 4:4)

Likewise the condition of a person who through the Law of Sin, come under the Law of Death, will not have the privilege of being guided by God. Cannot enjoy God's protection or God's goodness and the person will always be a victim to Satanic forces, power, and attacks. He/she will have no peace with God, no peace with fellow men, and no personal inner peace—lives in fear and uncertainty of the future, both temporal and eternal.

Though man may have come under the law of sin and of death, God has not left us without hope. In the words of Paul, he say, "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." - Romans 8:15

Those who are free from the law of Sin and Death have the following attributes:

  1. They do not obey or yield to the carnal desires of the flesh, but live by the Spirit of God… (Galatians 5:16, Romans 8:13)
  2. They love God and have a good relationship with Him.
  3. They enjoy God's protection and guidance because they yield to the leading of the Spirit of God. (Romans 8:14)
  4. They have personal inner peace and the fear of man is gone. (Luke 1:74-75, Romans 8:15)
  5. They live in the Hope and Joy of eternal life and eternal bliss.

"…Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." –Romans 8:9b. There can be no hypocrisy or pretence in spiritual matters because if a person does not have the Spirit of God it will certainly show either in the way he talks, relates to other people, handle God's work in and outside the church or the way he responds to the enticement in the world.

This week! There is one vital experience one gets as a result of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as believers in Christ is that, He gives us the assurance and confidence that we are the children of God. "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" – Romans 8:16. And if you have not experience this in your life--you can pray that God fill you with His Holy Spirit after you have surrender your life to Jesus and ask of him to be your Lord and Savior. Go ahead and do just that. Amen!

Remember the Bible says:"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." -Romans 8:1

You are blessed, we love you!
