RECONCILING THE WORLD TO GOD- Our Holy & Royal Task

"That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation" -2Corinthians 5:19

EXPLORATION

Reconciliation is bringing together of two parties that are estranged or in dispute. Jesus Christ is the one who brings together God and man; with salvation as the result of the union. Reconciliation basically means ‘change' or ‘exchange'. The idea is of a ‘change of relationship', an exchange of antagonism for goodwill and enmity for friendship. Attitudes are transformed and hostility ceases. In person-to-person reconciliation, the person who causes the break of relationship takes the initiative (Matthew 5:24; 1Corinthians 7:11). The person seeking reconciliation is said to be reconciled to the other person. He confesses his fault, offer reparation and seek forgiveness. In the restoration of relationship between God and humanity, reconciliation occurs with an unexpected twist. God, the injured party takes the initiative.

The Struggle With Sin & Salvation Through Christ Jesus

"For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:" - Romans 7:18-22 (Read Romans 7:7-25)

EXPLORATION

Laws are made to regulate the behaviors of people so that peace, order, and security are maintained in society. They are for the good of law-abiding citizens but for the discipline or punishment of the lawless. Without the law, a criminal may not know that he is a criminal. In the same breath, the law of God is given to let the evil doer know his wickedness and that he stands guilty and condemned before God.

"Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" - James 4:5

Caring For Others

"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:" - Romans 15:1-5

EXPLORATION

It shows that we are not all of the same spiritual strength, in knowledge, in zeal, in ministerial experience, in spiritual gift and so on and so forth. It should be born in mind that what we are or have we have received by the grace of God, Jesus said: "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."  - Matthew 10:8.

Avoiding Vices Of The Ministry

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." - 2 Timothy 2:1-5

EXPLORATION

A Vice is a practice or a habit considered immoral, great wickedness, depraved, and/or degrading in the associated society. In more minor usage, vice can refer to a fault, a defect, an infirmity or merely a bad habit. Synonyms for vice include fault, depravity, sin, iniquity, wickedness and corruption. Vice is the opposite of virtue." - encyclopedia

Inter-Dependence Of Spiritual Gifts In The Ministry - Bliss & Fire Network Weekly Digest - Success Scripture September 22, 2009

Inter-Dependence Of Spiritual Gifts In The Ministry

"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." - Romans 12:3-8

EXPLORATION

Spiritual gifts and their manifestation as recorded in the Bible are present with us today. We thank God for Holy Spirit Baptism which makes this phenomenon more evident. Seek to be baptized with the Holy Spirit and your own spiritual gift shall become obvious as you commit yourself to the service of the Lord.

Study 4: Lot - Blessings Received And Lost - CHARACTER STUDY SERIES

HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHT: Lot was the son of Haran, the brother of Abraham. At the death of Haran, Lot was left in the charge of Abraham and he accompanied him and Sarah to the land of Canaan. (Genesis 11:28, 31, Genesis 12:4-5, 13:1).He was with Abraham and Sarah when they went into Egypt and back again to Canaan, and he was like a son to them.

It is true that when God's favor and blessing are upon a man, it spreads to members of his household. (Job 1:6-10, Genesis19:29). God formed an edge round them such that Satan could not penetrate.
