"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." - 1 John 3:2-3
EXPLORATION
Bible analysts assert that man is the apex of God's creation, because after God created all things he finally made man when he said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and LET THEM HAVE DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." - Genesis 1:26. This shows that man has been made the head of all of God's creation.
INSPIRATION
It so happens that whatever happens to the head of any organization will also affect the organization as a whole. When anything happens to the head of a family, the family as a whole is also affected. In the same way man's sin affects the whole of God's creation. Like the story of the flood in the days Noah, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, and the famine in the days of Elijah and Elisa. All these are as a result of the continuous sinful acts of man. (Genesis 7:17-24, Genesis 19:24-25, 1 Kings 18:1-6, 2 Kings 6:25-32)
The Bible says: "The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left." - Isaiah 24:5-6. This scripture spans from man's fall, the consequence of his sin on the earth to the time of the final judgment.
Remember, when Adam and Eve sinned, God said unto Adam: "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;" - Genesis 3:17-18 By extension pain, sorrow and death also entered into the world through the sin of man. (Genesis 3:16, Romans 5:12) It is safe to conclude that natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, draughts, epidemics, famines, etc. could be as a result of man's sin. (Deuteronomy 28:15-67). You see, the spiritual condition of a person will always affect people, things, situations and circumstances around him. How is your spiritual life affecting people around you, NEGATIVELY OR POSITIVELY?
The whole of creation will be restored to its perfect state only when man is redeemed from the curse of the law and sin and then restored to his original sinless state. God in his infinite mercy will never allow his creation to be utterly consumed by the consequence of man's sin. So he sent forth his Son Jesus Christ: to save man from his sins and trespasses by the shedding of his blood on the cross of Calvary so that our son-ship in the Lord might be restored. (Ephesians 2:8-10) The Bible says: "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." - Titus 2:14
Paul therefore declares: "Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." - Romans 8:21-22
The Bible also says: "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:" - 1 John 3:1
As Jesus has been made the head of all principalities and powers after he resurrected, we also, having been made children of God by faith in him shall regain dominion over all things. The Bible says: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." - Romans 8:17 Being a child of God goes with a lot of spiritual responsibilities: such as living a holy life, doing gospel work, praying for strength to overcome the world and sin, self denial and self sacrifice in doing the will of God and also suffering for righteousness sake.
This week: Paul assured us as he spoke to the Roman brethren saying: "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." - Romans 8:18
As we Christian faces the storms of life, there is one thing that keeps us moving on in the Lord and that is the HOPE of total salvation and restoration of the whole earth which is going to be a future event. But now is the salvation, healing, joy and righteousness in the Holy Ghost as you believe and uphold the value of Jesus Christ our lord. Today is the beginning of the best thing in your life; you haven't seen anything ...the best is yet to come. You have entered into the month of God's favor in your life. Hallelujah! Amen!!!
Remember: The Bible says: "But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." - Romans 8:25
