Addressing Our Weaknesses - Bliss & Fire Network Weekly Digest – September 29, 2015

  |   Author: Pastor Wales Goriola

Even though many of us have many weaknesses in our lives, we always overlook them all or we don’t just like to talk about it—but our adversary does.

EXPLORATION

By definition, Weakness is a quality or feature that prevents someone or something from being effective or useful. (Merriam Webster)

It is very important for us as believers to address our weaknesses spiritually and physically before the enemy studies us and takes advantage of our weaknesses.

The Bible says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:” - 1 Peter 5:8

INSPIRATION

As we receive the above verse of the scripture and digest it in our hearts, here are some ways to address this.

Identify Your Weakness. The first thing to do is begin studying or investigating our lives spiritual and physically. And our response to certain things, such as behavior,  character, attitude, and spiritual appetite to those things that we don’t want to do but find ourselves doing them time after time without been able to exercise self control.

Apostle Paul says, “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.” -Romans 7:15-25

You Need To Pray Concerning Your Weakness. God expects us to cover every area of our lives in fervent prayer. Now, prayer is needed for a divine intervention, for God to help us through and keep us in our spiritual life from failing in those areas in our lives.

The Bible says, “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” - Luke 21:15 “Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” -Psalm 37:5

Reposition Your Spiritual Weapon To Your Weakness. By doing this you make yourself more sensitive to this area of your life—being careful, watchful, and vigilant in prayer.

The Bible says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength... But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” - Isaiah 40:29-31

Avoid Compromising That Area of Your Life. In your daily living, the desire for satisfaction will always present itself to you to compromise your weakness—don’t compromise. Be ready to take a decisive position and steps to prevent it before it appears, even if you have to make others around you uncomfortable.

The Bible says, “Therefore if thy right eye should bring thee occasion to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to offend, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is better for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.” - Matthew 5:29-30

Be careful Who You Tell. If possible keep it to your family only—except in the case of counseling. Avoid going around telling everyone about your weakness or joking around about it. Because by so doing you are giving the enemy the weapon to use against you and revealing to your adversary what it’s yet to know about you, especially your spiritual weaknesses. Rather talk about your Spiritual strength in the Lord.

The Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” - Philippians 4:13

Finally, there is absolutely nothing that God cannot do and HE will keep you in all things, through all things, and establish you in all things. Amen!

This Week, as you become more vigilant about your life, allowing God to take control by the power of the Holy Spirit Divine in your prayers and in your actions—your WEAKNESS will become your STRENGTH and HIS STRENGTH through CHRIST JESUS. Amen!

Remember the Bible says, “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9

We love you!

We are praying for you,

It's our JOY to see you blessed!
