"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:" - Romans 15:1-5
EXPLORATION
It shows that we are not all of the same spiritual strength, in knowledge, in zeal, in ministerial experience, in spiritual gift and so on and so forth. It should be born in mind that what we are or have we have received by the grace of God, Jesus said: "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." - Matthew 10:8. Therefore, whatever strength or ability we have received from God is to be engaged in sewing others. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." - Matthew 20:28.
"Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification." - Romans 15:2
To edify, means to do something to improve the mind or morals of another person. "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:" - Hebrews 10:24 There will always be Christian brothers and sisters or even those who are yet to be saved that are in the church and will need someone like you to say or do something to teach them what they do not know, counsel them on the right decision to take, encourage them in the service of the Lord by personal example, provide for them what they do not have to help them remain steadfast in the Lord or assist them in tasks they cannot accomplished on their own. We can go on and on mentioning many possible ways we could help others out of sheer Christian goodwill.
INSPIRATION
The hallmark of Christianity is selfless service to others whether they have the same mind towards us or not. "For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me." - Romans 15:3. This is the only way the love of Christ can be made manifest in the believer. Christ is saying to the church: "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." - John 13:34-35
GUIDE FOR PRACTICAL LIVING
This week: We have to know that there is no good turn we do to others that shall ever go unrewarded. The Bible says: "But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just." - Luke 14:13-14
"But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again..." - Luke 6:35
However, whenever anybody is in need, whether a Christian or not, poor of rich, as much as we have the ability, we should help. "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2
Remember the Bible says: "Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:" - 1 Peter 3:8
You are blessed, we love you!
