“That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” - 1 Corinthians 1:31
"...All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." - Isaiah 40:5-8
EXPLORATION
The Bible illustrated man’s glory as grass that withers and flowers of the grass that fades (1 Peter 1:24).
But unto the ones that glory in the Lord or experience the glory of the Lord their God, they are HIS flocks and HE is the Shepherd.
The Bible says: "He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young." -Isaiah 40:11
When we say we glory in the Lord, Glory in His Spirit, and Glory in His Word – we are simply saying we experience the Lord God in all these forms in our Lives. That is experiencing God’s Mercy, God’s Grace, God’s Longsuffering; God’s Abundance in Goodness and Truth. (Exodus 34:5-6)
INSPIRATION
We see that Moses in his desire to see the Lord’s presence go before them, “The First Church in the wilderness”; to experience the fullness of the glory of the Lord, and to glory in the Lord.
He asks the Lord: “And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.” - Exodus 33:18
The Lord answered him: “And HE said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.” - Exodus 33:19
God has chosen us and HE has called us to HIMSELF and has HIS people for us to experience the fullness of HIS Glory is to glory in HIS suffering, HIS mercy, HIS Grace, HIS Abundant Goodness and Truth.
The Bible says: “And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,” -Exodus 34:5-6
As believers, HIS suffering is part of HIS glory that we experience.
The Bible says: “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” - Hebrews 2:9-10 (Luke 24:25-26)
The apostle Peter says our suffering or reproached for Christ’s sake makes us experience the Spirit of the Glory of God. I love the way he put it:
"But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified." -1 Peter 4:13-14
We glory in HIS Spirit. Our daily journey in Christ Jesus, in obedience to the Spirit of God gives us the assurance of the fullness of HIS glory which is from glory to glory in us by the Holy Spirit of God.
Apostle Paul says: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” - 2 Corinthians 3:18
We glory in HIS Word, The word which we have received, as we gave our life unto to the Lord and confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our Salvation comes by HIS word. By this we glory in the Mercy of the Lord. In the Grace of the Lord, HIS Abundant Goodness and Truth – God is Truth.
The Bible says: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” - 1 Peter 1:23-25
This week: We have to be ready to experience God in all things. And understand that it not only in the abundance of Goodness, wealth, riches and good health that we glory in the Lord but also in HIS suffering and persecution for HIS sake. We pray that you will experience the fullness of the Glory that was revealed to Moses, that is, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6). Amen!
Remember the Bible says: “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” - Colossians 1:27
You are blessed, we love you!
