Speak Mercy, Righteousness, and Forgiveness Rather than Vengeance

“...And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” –(Hebrews 12:23-24)

EXPLORATION

The Scriptures revealed to us that the bloodshed does speak to the Lord. And the Book of Hebrews 12:23-24  compares  the Redeemer with Abel, not in the sense that the bloodshed, in either case, calls for vengeance, but that salvation by blood is further clearly revealed to us.  But the blood of Abel called for vengeance, which was followed by God’s fearful punishment on Cain (Genesis 4:8-11).

To the contrast, the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God makes a better, and distinct proclamation of the truth—Salvation for all. It’s speaks Forgiveness of sins—the Mercy of God, Healing for the broken hearts, and Deliverance for the captive.

INSPIRATION

The blood of Abel was shed by his brother Cain and according to the Bible, his blood cries out to the Lord for Vengeance! Vengeance!!

“And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand” –(Genesis 4:10-11).

He wants Justice, just as many people in our time, believers and unbelievers seeks vengeance and justice at all cost over what the enemy has done in their lives or stolen from them.  Though we are alive, but we always seek Man’s Justice at all cost instead of God’s way of Justice. In fact, I have seen some Christians praying that God should kill their enemies. At Bliss & Fire Ministries, we don’t encourage such prayers because the Bible says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” –(2 Peter 3:9). God is interested in saving the Life of the unbeliever. Once upon a time we were all like that, before the Lord’s mercy opened the way for us to be saved.

The Blood that speaks a better voice than that of Abel—the Blood of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:23-24)—this is what God is expecting from us—Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness of sins. God already says, “Vengeance is mine…” HE will take vengeance on our behalf. And if HE says HE will—surely HE will do it according to HIS word.

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” –(Romans 12:19).

“To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste” - (Deuteronomy 32:35).

It was because of God’s mercy through Christ Jesus, that we are not consumed in our sins, before we are saved by the Lord. And God extends the same mercy to all… everyone that is yet to be saved. So we need to pray daily for their salvation.

“It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not” – (Lamentations 3:22.

“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities” – (Psalm 103:10).
“But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath” – (Psalm 78:38).

Let us emulate Jesus Christ, by praying Mercy, instead of Vengeance, Grace instead of Wrath, Love instead of Hatred, and Righteousness in the Justice of our Lord Jesus. Let’s make it a duty to see the lost saved and the unbelievers come to the full knowledge of the Light of God through Christ Jesus. Salvation is a must for all!

This week: You must be ready to change your mind set, from seeking vengeance to seek Mercy instead and Justice in Righteousness. If Christ can do it for you, he is ready to do the same for others and save them too. So you must pray for their salvation.

I pray that the Blood of Jesus Christ, the Righteous Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, will grant you Forgiveness, show you Mercy, Increase His Grace over your life, Heal your broken heart, and Deliver you from captive. Amen!

Remember, the Bible says, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” – (1 Timothy 2:3-4).

You are blessed, we love you!
