Intimacy With God

"And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance." - 2 Chronicles 17:3-5.

EXPLORATION

The word "Intimate" refers generally to the innermost nature or fundamental character of something. (Wikipedia) Intimacy is to have a familiar and very close connection with another as a result of entering deeply or closely into relationship through knowledge and experience of the other. Intimacy can also be described as a psychological concept describing the interconnectedness between people in a relationship.

INSPIRATION

Jehoshaphat had an intimate relationship with God; he depends on God in all his life. He trust in the Lord and God blessed and strengthened him. We ought to depend on God in all we do as a person, as a family, in our career and business. We need to make God the center of our life. Get closer to HIM, telling Him about ourselves which HE already known, and not doing anything without Him.

God demonstrate His love to the whole world without living anyone behind by given His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for the sin of the whole world (John 3:16). This is God step to make the door open for everyone to have a closer relationship with Him.

The Bible says: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." - John 3:18-19 (KJV).

An intimate relationship with God must include the following:

• Unconditional love
• Personal enjoyment
• Mutual interests
• Mutual acceptance
• Mutual loyalty
• Mutual commitment

The government has passed a stimulus bill which according to government cannot solve the nation's economic crises. We as people of God, can call unto our God for relief: a restoration, a revival, and a spiritual stimulus to strengthen the people.

The Bible says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14(NJKV).

This week let us humble ourselves, pray and repent from all wicked ways (Sins), then will God turn things around for good. Then will His blessings and prosperity return to the nation. Yes, we can return back to God! Intimacy with God is our ONLY source of true fulfillment. The people are thirsty, the nation is thirsty, and the whole world is thirsty for the Living Water.

The Bible says: "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." John4:14 (KJV)

Remember: If we choose to be close to God it is of great benefit to us as a person, family, or society. And if we choose not, then the Word of God says we are condemned. But God desires for us to be blessed and not condemned. The choice is ours.
