Thanksgiving Never Ends

The Bible says: "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."-1 Samuel 15:22

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." - Psalm 34:1

EXPLORATION

Have you ever sat and watched the many that come before the altar of God in churches? Some will dance and dance, while some sing, and will not even give the preacher the enough time to deliver the WORD of God. And, some only attend church on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year services! Many have just come to show off or showcase how they have been blessed. Whatever motivation may be in THEIR heart – God knows EVERY heart which has been obedient and loving to HIM throughout the whole year. HE knows those who can lift up their holy hands and those who have demonstrated a stiff-necked attitude to the things of God.

The Bible says: "Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift." - Matthew 5:24

"But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."- Matthew 9:12-13

INSPIRATION

The “Thanksgiving Holiday” has already passed but, as Christians, our thanksgivings never end. Our thanksgiving should be continuous and be from a grateful heart – a daily sacrifice to the Lord in love and obedience. 

The Bibles says: "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." - Psalm 34:1

"Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein." -Psalm 111:1-2

Obeying The Lord

Our daily obedience to God and His commandments is our sacrifice of daily thanksgiving. God is more interested in our obedience than our “thanks”.

The Bible says: "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."- Hosea 6:6

Obedience launches us into the realm of the supernatural blessings of the Lord. We became more trustworthy – God becomes proud of us and we can call upon HIS name and make known HIS deeds among the nations and people of the world. (1 Chronicles 16:8)

"Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people."

Then you can say through the years of your life: "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." -1 Chronicles 16:34

The Bible says: "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:" - Hebrews 12:28

The Heart That Love God, Gives Thanks

When HIS love has consumed your heart and you are no longer a Looker for Love but are now a Giver of the Love of God. Then your thanksgiving becomes a daily affair because you love the Lord. The Bible says God is Love.

"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." - 1 John 4:8

To possess the love of God means you are victorious in HIM.

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 15:57

As you long to know HIM more and more as your God and your Father, HIS revelation becomes HIS love. Hence when you know HIM more, you will surely love HIM more. HIS love towards you becomes your testimony.

The Bible says: "Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." - Colossians 2:7.

You have been taught of HIM and rooted in HIS statutes. It’s time to be established in this very faith with our thanksgiving.

And because you have chosen to love the Lord thy GOD, here is what the Bible says to you:

"For the LORD shall comfort (insert your name): he will comfort all my waste places; and he will make my wilderness like Eden, and my desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody." -Isaiah 51:3

"...the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice." - Deuteronomy 16:15

This week: We should remember that our life is a daily sacrifice of thanksgiving before the Lord – the Father of all creations. Let us endure to be obedient to HIS WORD, HIS VOICE and dwell in HIS LOVE. It is the Will of God that we give thanks in all things.

Remember the Bible says: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." -1 Thessalonians 5:18
