"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." - Matthew 7:13-14

EXPLORATION

In these two verses of scripture, Jesus Christ reveals that there are two different ways in this world and each of us is certainly walking on one of the two. One is the bad way of sin, and the other the good way of holiness. That is, of right or wrong, good or evil; one is the way to heaven, the other, the way to hell. You must be walking on one of these two ways because there is no middle ground, either now or hereafter. It is either the best way or the worst.

INSPIRATION

THE WIDE GATE AND THE BROAD WAY

What attracts multitudes to it is that the gate is wide and the way is broad and many travelers are found in it. ( Proverbs 12:15) The Bible says: "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:" - Exodus 23:2
First, there is abundance of carnal liberty. (Romans 8:6-8)
You may go in at this gate with all your lusts because it does not check your sinful appetites and passions. (Galatians 5:19-21).
You may do anything that pleases your heart and have whatever appeals to your eyes.
Your choice of sinful acts is unlimited. (1 John 2:15-17) The Bible says: "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." - James 4:4
You will have a large company of friends because many there are that go in and walk in carnal liberty. (Luke 6:26)
But if we follow the multitude, it will surely be to do evil. If we go with the crowd, it will be the wrong way. ( 1 Samuel 8:4-22, Romans 12:2)
It is natural to do as the multitude but we should be cautioned by the fact that many perish in it and be frightened that it leads to destruction. (Proverbs 14:12) The Bible say: "The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness." - Proverbs 15:9
Whether it is the highway of open profaneness or the back way of close hypocrisy, if it be the way of sin, it will ruin you if you do not repent. (Isaiah 59:8, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

THE NARROW WAY AND STRAIT GATE

This is the way of holiness.
What frightens many from it is that the way is strait. (John 3:20).
Conversion and regeneration are the gate by which we enter unto the way. Jesus says: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." - John 3:3 (John 3:3-5, Titus 3:5).
We must get out of a state of sin and pass into a state of righteousness and grace by the new birth. (Ephesians 4:21-24)
This strait gate is hard to find and hard to get through - it is like passing between two rocks. (1 Samuel 14:4)
There must be a new heart and a new spirit and old things must pass away. We must deny ourselves and put off the world. The bent of soul must be changed. The Bible says: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (1 Peter 2:11)
Much opposition must be struggled with and broken through without and within. (Acts 24:16)
It is a strait gate, we must stop or we can't get in. We must be willing to forsake all for the sake of Christ.
Though the gate is strait, we thank God that it is not shut up against us, nor locked against us neither is it kept with a flaming sword as it will be shortly.

This week, reflects on these words and identify your way. It is not too late now but it could be too late tomorrow, for now is the acceptable day, now is your blessing within reach and now is deliverance. One thing is certain and sure that Jesus love you and want you to follow after HIM. You're blessed, we speak favor over your life, peace, joy righteousness in the Holy Ghost. Amen! Victory is certain for you!
