INSPIRATION
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior being the greatest advocates, and intercessor for the believers in Christ has also called every one of us to intercedes for the sinners and reconciles the world to God through Christ.
The Bible says, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” –2 Corinthians 5:18-20
An intercessor devotes much time in prayers, seeking the face of God, in Mercy, in the abundance Grace of God, and never in a hurry to give up but rather see solutions and possibilities in all things through Christ Jesus. The Bible says, “…I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” –1 John 2:1
Abraham demonstrated this personality as he interceded for his nephew, Lots and also for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah when God wanted to destroy the city. (Genesis 18:23-33)
Likewise Moses, through his ministry as he led the Israelites from Egypt to the promise land—he was faced with the generation of people with hardness of hearts and he never cease to intercede for them before the Lord. On many occasion he was ready and willing to give up his life for God to save the people. Moses said, “Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.” (Exodus 32:32). Daniel, interceded for the nation (Daniel 9:2-19), and Stephen to name a few, even unto death he was still praying for the people that stoned him to death (Acts 7:59-60). All of those great people had a heart to see others live for God and experience God.
In brief beloved, a successful intercessor requires one to dwell and operates in the abundance love of God in Christ Jesus. One needs to see love the way God sees it, that HE gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to died that we may have the full access to the Throne of Grace and obtain Mercy—that is intercessory prayers mush be in the love of God.
This week! Are you an intercessor? Do you love God and love your neighbors has yourself? Do you want to see the sinners saved or are you praying to see them perish so that you may have the world to yourself? Answer all that to yourself—but when we truly love God and the burden of Christ in our hearts to see the lost souls saved—and found Christ Jesus then we will all be an intercessor one way or the other.
Remember the Bible says, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” –Romans 8:34
